Websites for trades and rural businesses
I build straightforward websites for builders, tradespeople, farm shops and agricultural contractors across Powys, Mid Wales and Herefordshire. They show your work, make it easy to call or ask for a quote, and help local people find you on Google.
Rural business at a glance
34%
of businesses in Powys are in agriculture, one of the highest shares in the UK
21.3%
of Herefordshire businesses are in farming, forestry or fishing
72%
of rural Wales has 4G from all four mobile networks, so sites must load on a weak signal

Built for how your customers find you
Get the phone ringing
Most people looking for a builder, a contractor or a farm shop are on their phone. Your number, a click-to-call button and a short quote form sit at the top of every page, not buried on a contact page.
Show the work, not stock photos
A gallery of real jobs, before-and-after photos and the machinery you use says more than any sales pitch. People want to see you’ve done this before, round here.
Say exactly where you work
Listing the towns and villages you cover helps Google match you to local searches. If you work from home or a yard, your Google Business Profile can show your service area instead of your address.
Make the most of diversification
Plenty of farms now run a shop, a café, glamping or contracting alongside the main business. Your website can bring these together, so customers who find one discover the rest.
What your website can include
Everything a local customer needs to pick you
Every project is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. Depending on your business, your website can include:
- Click-to-call and a short quote request form
- A gallery of real jobs and projects
- The towns and villages you cover
- Services, machinery or produce explained clearly
- Reviews and accreditations, such as trade bodies
- Opening times and seasonal produce for farm shops
- Pages that load quickly on rural mobile signal
- A Google Business Profile set up to match

Questions
Trade and rural business websites: common questions
Do tradespeople really need a website if they get work by word of mouth?
Word of mouth is brilliant, but most people still look you up before they call. A simple website with your work, reviews and contact details reassures them they’ve got the right person, and helps new customers find you on Google.
I work from home. Do I have to show my address?
No. On your Google Business Profile you can set yourself up as a service-area business, showing the area you cover instead of your address. Your website can list the towns and villages you work in.
Can customers request a quote through the website?
Yes. I add a short quote form that asks the questions you need answering, such as the type of job, location and timescale, and sends the details straight to your email.
Can my farm shop sell online?
Yes. Depending on what you sell, that could be click and collect, local delivery or postal orders. My page on online shops explains more.
Will I be able to add new photos of jobs myself?
Yes. I build sites so you can add photos, update prices and change opening hours yourself, and I’ll show you how before launch.
